Sunday Community: With My Whole Heart

With my whole heart have I sought thee:
O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.

(Psalm 119 vs 10-11)

Light Comes

 Light Comes
Darkness is removed
A new day begins

I awoke early this morning already weary with so many things on my mind. I wanted to pull the covers over my head and hide from the day, but I knew from experience it wouldn't help. Instead I stumbled to my living room to watch the sun come up. I have always loved how the morning light spills into my living room and I need that moment today. As the dawn began to break and the sun came up this scripture came to mind:

And God saw the light, that it was good:
and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day. - Genesis 1:4-5

I began to feel better. The light came, removing the darkness of my thoughts and the cares and confusion within it. I felt renewed, ready to go forward into the day. From the beginning of the world God had left me a word of encouragement. A word I needed this morning.

Light comes, darkness is removed, a new day begins.

May all your mornings be filled with light.

Sunday Community: Autumn Rains

Rejoice in the Lord your God,
for he has given you
the autumn rains
because he is faithful.
(Joel 2:23)

The rains came last week.
After a long hot Texas summer I felt
revived, refreshed, renewed
and thankful.
