Five Minute Friday: Because

'Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives.'

- 'Because He Lives'
Classic Christian Hymn

I love the classic hymns of the church. As far as I'm concerned we don't sing them as much as we should in the modern church. This hymn is one of my favorites since I was a little Baptist girl trying to out-sing the adult choir on Sunday mornings. Brought back to memory today by this prompt, it more than resonates with my soul . It reminds me and affirms for me the foundation of my life, the foundation of my faith:
Because He lives.
Just because...

It's as simple as that. I can face tomorrow and whatever it brings with it. I have the peace and comfort that passes all understanding...Because.

Today's prompt: Because.

  1. We must have posted our links at the exact same time as we were "processing" together. Yes, I loved the classic hymns too. We should have a Sunday where we get to sing only the classics. I hope your week ahead is a wonderful one! Because

    1. I agree we should have a church wide classic Sunday. :) We need to remember where we came from and those hymns are filled with history and truth. I find such comfort in the classics.

I think we were also feeling the same things from this week's prompt. My heart goes out you for the passing of your husband. My mom passed at the end of April also after a lengthy illness. I pray God gives you and your family comfort and strength going forth.

      God Bless.

  2. Because He lives - it makes all the differences. I have that singing in my head now! Wishing you joy and blessing this weekend!

  3. Cassandra - I love that you are the second post I have read to mention this song. I am not trying to be bossy or anything but check out post #40 for a beautiful video of this very song. It will bless you unreal - BECAUSE God always does when we praise Him. Blessings!

  4. I posted about that song today too! One of my favorites! Sometimes I think we sing so many new songs, we miss the oldie but goodies. Popping over from FMF today.

  5. I love that song too. I sang it once for church.
    This is a beautiful post.
