Rejoice in the Lord your God,
for he has given you
for he has given you
the autumn rains
because he is faithful.
because he is faithful.
(Joel 2:23)
The rains came last week.
After a long hot Texas summer I felt
revived, refreshed, renewed
and thankful.

Love this! We are enjoying autumn rains here in MD too, but it has not been nearly as hot. Praying that you have a refreshing week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kym! When I opened the door Thursday morning on a cool rainy dawn, I wanted to weep from joy and relief. It's been very, very hot here in North Texas and I was so glad for the rain.
DeleteJust came back from your place. It seems the rain has gotten to us both. Enjoy it and thanks for stopping by.

Hello. I jumped over from Jumping Tandem. I love this verse, and this reminder of His faithfulness, especially this time of year when. Blessings. Dina (causerie.typepad.com)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Dina,
DeleteYes, God is faithful. I know this well. When I saw this picture, I said to myself "That's me!" The blessing of rain both naturally and spiritually.
Thank you for visiting. Come again soon.

I am visiting from The Sunday Community. I clicked on your link because I am sitting here in the quiet of the morning listening to the "autumn rains" :) May I remember today that He gives us the rains to refresh us, to relieve the heat & because He is faithful!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday,
Joanne
Hi Joanne
DeleteListening to rain always lulls me to sleep no matter the time of day, but it is always a glorious, peaceful, refreshing nap. Thank you for taking time out of your quiet morning to come visit.
God Bless and come again soon.

Hi Cassandra! I listened to the autumn rains late last night. They cam down hard and fast in NYC. Always grateful for it. Loved the joyful abandon of the girl pictured. Have a great Sunday!

This post made me smile...I played in the rain yesterday when a grocery bag broke and everything fell in the parking lot :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful verse!
HA! You made me laugh out loud this morning. I love the scene you painted with your words. Thanks for a joyful start to my Sunday. I'll be giggling about that all day.

I'm stopping by for a visit via Sunday at Jumping Tandem today.
ReplyDeleteStill recovering from a virus infection and dealing with my chronic pain. But getting much comfort and inspiration today. Thank you.
Virus infections can be annoying little buggers! :) I pray you have a speedy recovery and thank you for stopping by.

Usually rain is one of my happy moments in the summer. Keeps the heat from ruining my flowers and having to take hours to spread the water around the yard on our sprinklers. Rain can be so good. But flooding ain't too far away, etc Trusting the Lord, rain or not, is all we can ever do.
ReplyDeleteBless you. Thank you.
I love summer rain but unfortunately we get too little of it in North Texas. Last weeks autumn rain brought the cooler temps with it and it's wonderful!
DeleteThanks for visiting. Come again soon.

Amen! We lived in Fort Worth for 8 years and the year my 2nd son was born, there were an incredible number of 100 degree-plus days. I remember being outside at midnight and sweating because the nominal temperature was 98 degrees!
ReplyDeleteThen you know from whence I speak about the heat. Unless you experience it, you have no idea how brutal those high temps can be. SO glad fall has finally come. It's currently 73 degrees at noon here in Dallas. I'm doin' the Snoopy happy dance!
DeleteThanks for coming by LuAnn.

I love the rain, I am from the Pacific Northwest and we have a lot of rain. It is so refreshing and even gets cool but I love it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. It's nice and cool today and has been all weekend.Well, it's in the low 70's which is cool for Texas. LOL.
DeleteThanks for visiting.
